Board & Committees

The Ashland Ridge PTO is made up of parent volunteers who serve in various capacities — some as super-involved board members, others as occasional volunteers for PTO-sponsored events. The following is a list of board members and descriptions of what they do. 2017 – 2018 PTO Board Members

Co-President (oversees committees and events, helps with monthly website updates, prepares meeting agendas, assist at Back to School & Meet the Teacher events, etc.)

Vice President (helps with PTO bulletin board, monthly website updates, overseeing various events, assists at Back to School & Meet the Teacher events, etc.)

Secretary (takes and publishes minutes from monthly PTO meetings; gathers, organizes, and submits newsletter to school secretary monthly, etc.)

Treasurer (responsible for counting, recording, and depositing funds in a timely manner; prepares financials for monthly meetings; assists with events; pays PTO bills, etc.)

2017 – 2018 Committees

Box Tops Committee– (Coordinates collection and submission of Box Tops & Labels for Education)

Fun Run Committee– (Coordinates 5K run and various committees for this fall event)

Fundraising Committee– (Coordinates various fundraisers –fall, spring, dinner nights, etc.)

Yearbook Committee– (Coordinate all aspects of the yearbook, including sales, assembly, and distribution)

Beautification Committee- (Oversee the care of various landscaping PTO is responsible for. Weeding, watering, etc.)

Fun Night Committee– (Coordinate and assemble all various committees for this spring event)

Spirit Wear Committee– (Design and coordinate annual Ashland Ridge spirit wear, sales, and distribution)

Conference Meals Committee- (Coordinate meals for teacher conference dates in the fall and spring)

Staff Appreciation Committee– (Coordinates welcome back breakfast, lunch, and teacher appreciation week.)

Parent/Student Directory Committee – Works to compile a classroom directory each year.  This directory can be used by parents to plan birthday parties and play dates.

There are also numerous opportunities throughout the year to volunteer.  Some examples include: picture and homeroom parents, book fair volunteers, and vision/hearing screening volunteers.
